Penetration Tester Experts Needed
CompTIA is seeking IT professionals with expertise in the field of penetration testing, vulnerability assessment and management, or a related field to be involved in a Performance and Text-Based Item Writing (IW) workshop for our CompTIA Penetration Tester (CPT+) certification exam.
During the Item Writing workshop, the CPT+ Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) will create, develop, and review item content (questions) for the CompTIA Penetration Tester+ exam.
Assistance from subject matter experts (SMEs) is crucial in providing an industry relevant exam. To qualify, potential CPT+ SMEs must have at least 3-4 years of hands-on experience with penetration testing, and/or vulnerability assessment and management. It is preferred that SMEs hold the CEH (Certified Ethical Hacker), OSCP (Offensive Security Certified Professional), or similar penetration testing or vulnerability assessment & management certification (or an equivalent/higher credential). A Bachelor’s degree is recommended, but not required.
SMEs who attend the workshop will receive:
- An honorarium of $400 per day (or $1200 total for the three days), pending adequate level of participation
- A complementary CompTIA testing voucher for the exam of his/her choice
- Breakfast, lunch, and refreshments daily during the workshop
In recognition of their contributions, all SMEs who participate in the Cut Score workshop will have their names and companies (if provided) listed on the CompTIA website.
International SMEs (outside of the US) will also receive an additional $100 per day stipend to help defer travel costs for a total $1500 for the three days.
When: February 5-7, 2018
Where: CompTIA Headquarters; 3500 Lacey Rd. Suite 100, Downers Grove, IL 60515 (Downers Grove is a suburb of Chicago)
Only professionals currently working in the field of penetration testing and/or vulnerability management should apply. Although CompTIA appreciates interest from the training community, applications from trainers, authors, or individuals who may profit or materially benefit from knowledge of the CompTIA credential content are not eligible to participate.
