As more businesses use their networks to store sensitive information, the need for qualified security professionals increases. According to a recent CompTIA research report,Committing to Security: Fourth Annual Benchmark Survey, the number one cause for a network security breach is human error. CompTIA Security+ was developed in 2002 to address the rise of security issues and validate the foundational knowledge of security professionals.CompTIA Security+ objectives were derived through input from the government, academia and the IT industry. To ensure exam accuracy, CompTIA surveyed more than 1,100 subject matter experts and conducted a multilevel review process for all test questions.
