Are there ever questions on the exam that cover technologies or concepts that are not in the CAQC training materials?
As with other professional testing organizations, CompTIA regularly “seeds” its exams with unscored questions. These questions have no impact on whether a candidate passes or fails the exam because they are not counted in the score. Occasionally these questions may even test a topic area that is not part of the exam objectives, and therefore is not covered in any of the training materials. Unscored questions are included in an exam to allow for the collection of preliminary psychometric data, which means data on test taker response to the questions that is used in the development of an exam. Candidates are notified in pre-exam documentation at the testing center when unscored questions are included in an exam.
Can I see my test answers?
No. To maintain the quality and integrity of the certification, exams must remain secure at all times and no questions or answers are ever released under any circumstances.
Do I have to pay for an exam retake?
Yes, you must purchase an exam voucher for each test.
If I fail the exam, how long do I have to wait before I can retake it?
CompTIA does not require any waiting period between the first and second attempt to pass the same CompTIA certification test. However, before your third attempt, or any subsequent attempt to pass any CompTIA certification test, the you are required to wait for a period of at least thirty calendar days from the date of your last attempt to pass that test.
