PDI+ Certification CompTIA Printing and Document Imaging (PDI+) certification ensures foundation-level knowledge and skills necessary for a career in service and support of printing and document imaging devices.

The international, vendor-neutral certification proves competence in installation, connectivity, maintenance, troubleshooting and repair of printers, scanners, copiers, fax and multi-function peripherals. CompTIA PDI+ certified technicians also have excellent customer service and communication skills to work with clients.

CompTIA PDI+ covers a technician's understanding of basic electromechanical components and tools, print engine and scan processes and components, color theory, connectivity and networking. The exam also covers soft skills such as customer service, professionalism, safety and environment. While there are no prerequisites for the CompTIA PDI+ certification exam, it is recommended that entry-level candidates have foundation-level knowledge or hands-on experience working with printing and document imaging devices.

Candidate job roles include customer service technician, field service technician, help desk technician, network support technician and service center technician. CompTIA PDI+ is recognized by technology companies, including Canon, Sharp and Xerox, as a benchmark certification for professionals that service and support document imaging devices. This certification also provides a stepping-stone towards Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) training for authorization on specific devices.
