Troops to Tech Careers is a program designed to ease the transition from military to civilian life by
providing a pathway to a successful career in IT through education and training, credentialing, and employment.
As a veteran or a spouse of a veteran, you're entitled to educational benefits that allow you to acquire new skills and credentials. Many veterans can qualify for more than one benefits program. Certification costs for CompTIA exams are covered by the following funding resource programs:
- Workforce Investment Act (WIA)
- Vocational Rehabilitation and Employment
- Post 9/11 GI Bill (as of October 1, 2011)
You can take classroom courses at community colleges or any of the participating New Horizons Computer Learning Centers locations.

Employing veterans is the main goal of the Troops to Tech Careers Program. CompTIA is actively recruiting companies to commit to hiring veterans. A corporate registry is being created to list the companies that are committed to hiring veterans in IT. CompTIA plans on partnering with job boards and other job placement services to make it easy for you and your spouse to search for open IT positions.
